ASH Wednesday 22 Feb
7.30pm St Peter’s Chailey, Communion with the Imposition of Ashes, I’ll be preaching on Leviticus 8 so now you have two reasons to come. If you’d like a lift I’ve got space for 4.
If you would prefer, gluten free wafers are available at Holy Communion.
If you would like to pray with someone after the service, please go over to the prayer corner.
QUIET
We are going to cover uncharted ground,(for our church anyway) at the Quiet Service on Feb.5th. If you are curious, and open to an adventure in spirituality, come and see!
Magazines Read. Thank you for your magazines. They have been very well received and made ‘ waiting’ more enjoyable in various residential environments. I am happy to continue passing them on. R Williams.
Friday March 2nd. 10 am. Coming to Barcombe with a change of time from previous years! Women’s World Day of Prayer. This year in St.Mary’s followed by Soup lunch.
Lectern
Muriel Pyne, our splendid Keeper of the Lectern, who polishes it with great diligence and love, is out of action till March, and would greatly appreciate it if someone, or two, would clean the lectern in Feb. We are so blessed not to have to do this normally, and this is a way in which we can thank Muriel for all she does. Volunteers please! Please ring Gillian if you can help.
ST FRANCIS
The PCC are praying for clear direction, vision and purpose for St Francis. We would welcome your input. At the moment the feeling is that StF has a Presence in the Village and in that a purpose to serve the Community. But it cannot stay as it is. We’re going to do a focussed hour of prayer every day for two weeks. You’ll find details in March Magazine and also here: Praying in St Francis
Easter eggs
I’m going to do another order of ‘real easter eggs’ by a christian company that talk about Jesus on the box. They are £3.99 each, fair trade and great. Please contact me Sarah Lear, 400546, sarahlear@barcombe.net if you are interested. Thanks. Deadline 26th feb please.
CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED 22nd Jan onwards
I’m so keen for so many of you to do this that there’s a separate tab on the website, so go and look there. Paper permitting, I’ll try and print some off on the next notice sheet.
MORE HELP NEEDED!
I’m about to type up the Flower Rota for 2012, so now would be a good time to volunteer to go onto the list (or come off it!). I really could do with a couple more folks to help with the flowers, so that those on the list don’t have to do it more than a couple of times during the year. The PCC has kindly given us a Flower Fund for use during the year, so help towards the cost of flowers, particularly during the winter when there is nothing in the garden, is now available. My number is 01273400548 or email me asap on madeleine@simpson5.wanadoo.co.uk. Many thanks. PS now would also be a very good time to volunteer to join some of the other church rotas, especially the Church Cleaning Rota! I discovered that the organiser was planning to do the WHOLE of December 2011 herself in the absence of any other helpers!

Your donation also helps the 12 Christian Charities that Saint Mary’s Church family support each year. I would like to encourage you to give generously.
